Ana’s journey through yoga started with a 30 day yoga challenge together with a friend. She barely knew that this challenge would change her life! Wishing to deepen her practice and learn more about yogic philosophy, Ana headed to India for her first 200 hr Teacher training in 2017. Overwhelmed with the first experience and seeking for her equilibrium, in early 2018 she decided to fly back to India for a Yin Teacher Training. Ana is certified in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and more recently she got her first certification in Rocket Vinyasa with David Kyle. Ana’s classes are very yang: strong, energetic, energising and fun! She likes to challenge her students on both the physical (asana) aspects of yoga and philosophical aspects as well.
Anna has been immersed in yoga ever since she was a little girl. She grew up in Italy, where her uncle is a teacher at the Svami Gitananda Ashram. Anna has a background in dance and has been practicing yoga on a daily basis for over 15 years. She obtained her 200 h teacher training certificate and has been teaching in Brussels and around the world for over 10 years. She has continued her education with Rocket Yoga, Aerial Yoga and the Great Yoga Wall. She offers various styles of yoga. In all the styles that she is teaching, the most important to her is that the practice becomes a symphony, where we can all experience the connection between the body, the mind and the universe.
Emilie took her first class at Bikram Yoga Brussels in 2010 and her loyal commitment to this vigorous and invigorating practice continues to this day. She completed her Bikram Yoga certification in 2013 with Evolution Yoga in Bali and taught at Bikram Yoga Brussels before co-founding Yoga Room in 2016. Emilie is the head of operations and business development at Yoga Room. Emilie is known for her fantastic smile and her strong Hot 60’ classes at Yoga Room. Her cheerfulness is a direct reflection of her love of the staff and students of Yoga Room.
From her mother, a Korean Hatha yoga teacher, Gayoung learned how yoga empowers people and brings positive changes in their lives. Since 2010 Gayoung has explored and practised different forms of yoga and meditation in India, Australia and Uganda. She started with Hatha yoga as her main practice and earned her first yoga instructor qualification in 2012. In 2018 she completed her second yoga teacher training in Ashtanga and she has been practising the traditional method of Ashtanga yoga under the guidance of Anne and Lynne Pinette. During her sessions, Gayoung emphasises the importance of conscious connected breathing to help her students achieve complete focus and live each moment to the fullest.
Madeleine started yoga whilst travelling around South America and South Africa in 2015. In 2016, Madeleine did her 200H-TTC with YogaLife Belgium. She completed her training with Yogalife with 100H of Yogic Studies and Sadhana as well as Yoga Nidra. Madeleine has always been interested by the mind and human behaviour and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Today, she continues learning by following an online master’s degree in applied neuroscience with King’s College London. She also follows a training in Chinese Medecine at “Ecole Zhong Fu” in Brussels. During Madeleine’s classes, expect a classical approach to yoga, with a focus on detailed alignment, guidance to getting to know your physical body and personal hands on adjustments.
Marta started practicing yoga 8 years ago and completed her first yoga teacher training in 2016. She now has certificates in Hatha and Vinyasa, Yoga Therapy (Yoga Vidya Gurukul, India) and Yin (Joe Barnett) and followed the mentorship program at Yoga Room. In 2018, she went on a yoga journey for a year, teaching in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Laos, Cambodia, Philippines, and studying yoga in India. Marta’s classes combine a traditional hatha yoga and meditation with modern body awareness flows. She encourages her students to respect the needs of their own individual bodies. Marta truly believes that yoga is the ultimate tool for healing both the physical and psychological diseases created through our modern lifestyles.
Born in Taiwan, Nick has 15 years of experience working with the physical body as physical trainer, dancer, and performer in theatre. In 2005 he discovered the practice of yoga and its many physical and mental benefits. Teaching yoga since 2009, Nick began to integrate his knowledge and understandings from the different physical disciplines and grew his understanding of the body and alignment helping his students across dance, physical training, aerobics and yoga. Nick has an eRYT500 certification with a commitment to continued learning. In his classes you will be guided by clear alignment cues, a mix of humour, kind encouragement to help new and seasoned students go deeper into understanding their physical body.
Olivia first started yoga (hot yoga) as a complement to her running practice. Due to a knee injury, she had to stop running. She then participated to a vinyasa class and immediately fell in love with the practice. Later, she was introduced to the beautiful practice of Ashtanga Yoga, and soon it became part of her daily life.
She has obtained her Vinyasa Yoga certification with Rachel Brathen and Lara Heimann in beautiful Aruba, making her a Yoga Girl® (Island Yoga) certified teacher. On top of that, she also obtained her certification in Yin Yoga. She travels around the world to pursue her training in Ashtanga with world-renowned teachers Sarath Jois, Kino MacGregor, Philippa Asher, Scott Johnson, Kia Naddermier, etc.
Olivia has combined her deep interest for the human body and its anatomy and her love for creative movement in order to develop powerful, strong and intelligent classes. She teaches Yoga with a devoted and peaceful heart, because she truly believes that such practice contributes to making people mentally and physically stronger and happier. Through her classes, she hopes to help people become the best version of themselves.
Yoga Teacher and founder of Yoga Room, Pierre is well known to everyone at the studio as “The Boss”. He practiced yoga in Shanghai for 8 years before coming back to Belgium. Pierre completed his first teacher training in Shanghai with Bill Arce and later graduated from the Wild Lotus 200 H teacher training program with Patrick Creelman at Pure Yoga Hong Kong. Pierre believes in yoga’s ability to heal wounds of grief, physical disability, emotional trauma and disease and make the world a better place to live. He launched the first Yoga Room in 2016 with the mission of bringing the practice to as many people as possible. His favourite class to teach is a dynamic hot detox flow that will leave you feeling refreshed and renewed!
Ramone is a soul seeker who explores the connections between nature, the mind-body and abundant health through her work with Wild Sage Wellbeing. With 20 years experience in the health and wellness industry, Ramone’s career has evolved from a fitness trainer, wilderness educator, energy worker and massage therapist to her current role of yoga and mindfulness coach where she sensitively guides people to let go of self-doubt and embrace their full potential and live abundantly healthy and happy lives. She is qualified to teach Vinyasa, Restorative, Prenatal and Postnatal yoga, meditation and Thai Yoga Massage after studying with expert teachers from around the world including Leslie Kaminoff, Tiffany Cruikshank, Ana Forrest and Duncan Peak.
Ramone combines the wisdom of all of these modalities with her intuitive connection and scientific mind to create safe, fun and empowering classes tailored to the needs of each student. A firm believer in both our body’s innate power to heal and the healing power of nature, Ramone loves nothing more than taking people off the grid and into the wild help them reconnect to their own deep wisdom in places of immense natural beauty.
Hailing from Detroit, USA, Sarah just moved to Belgium . She will be the first full-time teacher at Yoga Room Plasky. Sarah began teaching yoga the Autumn of 2014. Yoga transformed her life in all areas and has become her lifestyle. Sarah has developed a plant-based diet, commitment to mental health, a daily yoga/meditation practice and is making self-care a priority. Continuous work on herself keeps her honest and able to help her students work through their own evolution in a safe space. Sarah teaches a large variety of classes ranging from Vinyasa to… Aerial Yoga, her specialty!
From South Africa of British parents, Shannon started practicing yoga in the 2000’s to help her manage her lifestyle as Director of companies in London and New York. Shannon completed her 200 hour teacher training at Yyoga. Always a student, she has deepened her love for yin yoga by training further with Joe Barnett and Jo Phee, senior assistants of yin founder Paul Grilley. She fell in love with the exquisite healing power of crystal bowls and has undertaken highest level alchemy crystal bowl sound healing trainings with renowned sound healer, Yantara Jiro in London. Shannon brings her personal style of blending meditation instruction into all her yoga classes. Her signature is yin yoga and crystal sound bowl healing.
Simone’s love and appreciation for yoga’s transformative impact on her life began after attending her very first yoga class in early 2014. Simone received her 200 Hour Vinyasa/power yoga training in her hometown, Cape Town, and went on to teach at the studio where she began her journey. Simone was The Programme Director for Lion Hearted Kids Foundation (a non-profit organisation that envisions communities of resilient children and families living to their full potential) where she developed and implemented mindfulness-based yoga classes for children with learning challenges and physical difficulties. Simone teaches playful, rhythmic and creative yoga classes inspired by her love for music and working with children. Her most liked classes are Power/Vinyasa, Yin/Restorative and Hatha/Yoga for beginners. Catch her on her mat soon!
Originally from Bulgaria, Tanya had her first yoga classes when she was 14 years old. During her second teacher training, she got pregnant and thus her yoga practice, her teaching practice and her parenting became tightly intertwined. Tanya has learned her functional yoga from practice from books, the internet and from teachers such as Joe Barnette, Jo Phee and Sarah Powers. She completed her pregnancy yoga teacher training at TriYoga London. In her classes, Tanya holds space for you to slow down and come back to yourself. Tanya’s mission in her pregnancy class is to cultivate the confidence in each woman of her inner strength and softness that they will use both in birthing and parenting.
